The Last Hurrah of Summer

School starts in around 36 hours, and to celebrate the end of summer Robyn and I took our big girls to Watertown for the day.  We spent almost 6 hours at the park, and the girls had a blast.  We did it all--lazy river, big slides, little slides, wave pool, and regular pool.  We got there when the park opened, so for just a few minutes we had the wave pool all to ourselves.  Dani--this should be reminding you of your magazines cover from last publication!  The girls poses in these pictures is really hilarious to me.  Wish we had taken more pics, but we were pretty busy soaking up the vitamin D....

Grandma and the Girls Meets Gators

Grandma had been planning to do the 'ol gator park sometime this summer, and this is Liv's last full week of summer break--so this had to be the week.  Grandma picked the girls up early in the afternoon (but after naptime-Grandma is no fool!) and off they went.  It is super hot here, but Grandma beat the heat with some wet, fresh out of the fridge washrags for the girls.  Clever, I thought.  The girls got to watch the alligators being fed,  and feed and pet lots of animals in the petting zoo.  There was even a 6 week old camel there.  The ladies also enjoyed riding ponies.  Josie hasn't yet grasped the idea of giving her dolls and things names, so when Grandma suggested giving her pony a name (Princess was Grandma's suggestion)-Josie said, "he has a name-it's Pony".   Which means that I should be calling her 'Girl'or something, right?  Anyway, fun was had by all (even Liv, who is harder and harder to impress these days).  Pretty jealous that I was stuck at work!

A Hallway Addition

When Kevin and I went to Dallas for our anniversary weekend we went to IKEA (surprise) and came out with this kit to hang pictures.  We didn't really have a plan when we got it, but here's what we came up with.  Our wedding pictures moved to the end of the hall, and we picked 6 pictures that we loved.  We had those printed in black and white, and hung 'em up!  I kinda feel like I'm walking through a museum display of my family...and I love it!!

Momma's Got A Brand New Header And Layout

Pretty exciting things going on here at All Funny, All The Time.  I had been using the previous layout for a long time, but luckily I have a fantastically creative friend who made from scratch the header you see today.  Dani, of www.arklatexfashion.com asked me for some inspiration and all I gave her was Mary Engelbreit and the subway.  I really love what she came up with, and picked a layout that would complement it.  So, thanks Dani!!  I feel like the fanciest girl in town!!

In other news, total fail at getting back in the habit of always carrying my camera and photographing my every day moments.  We have been busy lately with birthday parties (for the young and old), new friends, Kevin and I had a wedding anniversary, a random Monday night trip to Chuck E. Cheese and lots more.  I promise to get better about the pictures....

Momma's Got A Brand New (Camera) Bag!!

Complete with new camera!!  My mom got us a new camera as an anniversary gift, so I'll be back to snapping photos--effective today.  The camera is great and I love the color--a lovely shade of blue.

Shout out mom!  Thanks for the camera!!

New Houseguest, No Camera Required

Josie is an early riser (much to my dismay), so her tiptoeing into my bedroom at 7 am announcing she is ready for breakfast is no surprise.  It was a surprise this morning when she announced that Blast was also hungry.  In my sleepy state, I thought she meant her Buzz Light Year action figure.  No.  She means Blast--her new imaginary friend.  As I was getting out of bed, Josie stopped me and told me that I might want to pick Blast up and carry him to the couch, so as to not step him.  He is a little fella.  When we got to the hallway the threat of being trampled to death had passed and Josie advised me that Blast could walk the rest of the way.  Also, Blast would like m & m's for breakfast.  When I asked what Blast looked like, Josie calmly explained that he has silly arms and a star on his belly.  Perfect.  She and Blast watched Team Umi Zoomi while I showered.  Later in the morning, I wanted to introduce Kevin to Blast, but Josie told me that Blast stepped out for a minute.  She explained that Blast had a lot of friends to visit, but that he would be right back.

Fantastic start to the morning.  Looks like I'll be setting an extra place at the table for dinner tonight....

My Camera is Busted...We Can't Have Nice Things

My camera was totally fine, then I charged the battery and now it won't come on at all.  Perfect.  This limits my pictures to things taken with Kevin's Iphone.  Great.  I've only had this camera for a year, so there really is no excuse for this and I don't want to spend any money to fix it or on another camera since I didn't do anything to break this one.  For now, my master plan is to do nothing and hope that the camera magically rights itself and I can carry on with my usual photo taking business.

Anyway, since I've last blogged things have been pretty usual for us.  Kevin pulled through his tonsillectomy with only a few brushes with death.  Actually, he did better than I thought--after Day 5, he took himself off all pain meds and has been fine since.  Olivia wrapped up second grade last Thursday (finally) and finished the year with A's in every class.  It's crazy to me that we just got out of school and Target is setting their back to school stuff out already.  But such is life for the year round student, I suppose.  Josie is currently obsessed with Toy Story so we regularly go to infinity and beyond with her.  I am good--love my job still and have taken over the ad campaigns for Austin, TX.  I really like being responsible for something and the people whose campaigns I manage think I am awesome.

Kevin and I will be celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary next week, and we'll go to Dallas next weekend for some adult celebration.  Everyone get your IKEA orders in now!

We are also trying to formulate a serious plan to finish up remodel work of our current Estate, so we can find a bigger one.  Exciting!  We have been finishing up some landscaping work outside, have a little stuff to do in the bathroom and Liv's room, and then the kitchen is last big project.  Hopefully, by next Spring we'll have this baby on the market....

Today's pics are things that Kevin has taken from his phone this weekend.  Liv hasn't been here, so they are all Josie....
